Hi all, just launched a new website that teaches everything you need to know about how to play jazz piano. it covers jazz chords, jazz scales, improvisation, chord voicings, common chord progressions, reharmonization, modal harmony, free jazz and more.. Look, learning to play jazz piano is as involved a process as learning any new deep and broad skill, including how to play classical piano. you have to practice. sure, it's a lot of work. in some sense all such activities are "grindy." there is no quick fix. if there were it would not be worth doing.. I learnt some jazz piano when i was a teenager but i was really messing around in the dark until i did 2 things: got lessons. not jazz lessons but normal classical lessons to learn the basics. studied music more at school. learning bach's harmonies is still the most useful thing i ever did for my jazz playing..
